About Marnie
Marnie is an experienced family lawyer with a strong background in family violence restraining orders, child protection and family law, having acted for some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
Having held roles as Senior Supervising Lawyer at Women’s Legal Service WA and Managing Solicitor at Aboriginal Family Legal Services, Marnie has developed exceptionally broad exposure to a wide range of clients and complex legal issues. She has worked extensively with clients from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal clients from regional and metropolitan Western Australia, as well as people from refugee and asylum seeker communities. This breadth of experience has given her deep insight into the intersecting social, cultural and legal issues that can affect outcomes for vulnerable clients
With qualifications in both law and counselling, Marnie is recognised for her trauma‑informed practice, calm approach under pressure and ability to build rapport with clients experiencing complex trauma and acute distress, including in cross‑cultural settings.

Marnie is known for her exceptional attention to detail. She is highly motivated, collaborative and someone whose integrity has never been in question. She is actively engaged in the profession through memberships such as Family Law Practitioners Association of WA and Women Lawyers of WA, and regular participation in continuing professional development and law reform-focused events
